Treatment for Depression in Elder Neglect

Leveraging Adult Protective Service Interaction to Offer Evidence-Based Treatment for Depression in Elder Neglect/Self-Neglect

This study will seek to: (1) leverage APS contact with adults with elder neglect/self-neglect to initiate evidence-based treatment for depression; and (2) test whether evidence-based treatment for depression may be helpful in these participants. Findings will inform an NIH Stage 3 real-world effectiveness study, supported by the existing relationship with Texas APS via the UTHealth Houston Institute on Aging.
