The mission of Student Financial Services is to provide our students the financial resources necessary to attend The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth Houston) and The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center School of Health Professions (UTMDACC) in a prompt and professional manner.
Financial Services is currently packaging financial aid awards for students enrolled for the 2026–2027 academic year. Students should log in to MyUTH to review their financial aid awards and accept any student loan offers they wish to receive for the 2026–2027 award year.
The original financial aid disbursement date for Summer 2026 was scheduled for May 2026. Due to new federal requirements introduced by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, our financial aid software must undergo additional updates before we can release federal student loans for the 2026–2027 aid year.
Although these updates were initially expected by mid-May, unexpected delays have further pushed back the vendor’s delivery timeline. As a result, federal student loan disbursements will no longer occur in the mid to late-May timeframe. Federal loan disbursements are now anticipated to begin in early to mid-June 2026.
Other eligible aid, such as grants and scholarships, will still be disbursed as scheduled, provided that all spring grades are posted and students are making satisfactory academic progress.
Students experiencing financial hardship or needing temporary funding to bridge the gap until federal loan disbursements are processed should contact the Office of Student Financial Services at (713) 500-3860 for assistance.
Make sure your financial aid can be released on time by completing all required steps:
If you completed the MPN and Entrance Counseling in the past, log in to Studentaid.gov to confirm your documents are still valid and haven’t expired.
Disbursements cannot occur until all items are complete. Check your status today to prevent delays.
If you need assistance completing any of the steps above, contact Student Financial Services at (713) 500-3860 or [email protected].
