Biography

Dr. Mohd Ishtikhar received his B.S in Life Sciences at Avadh University (India) and M.S in Biochemistry from Jamia Hamdard University (Delhi, India). In 2015 he got his PhD in Biotechnology at the Aligarh Muslim University (India). He joined Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay (India) as postdoc in 2016. In 2019 He move to East Carolina University (NC, USA) and join East Carolina Diabetes and Obesity Institute as Postdoctoral Research Fellow. After one year he move to Texas A&M University. Now he's a postdoctoral Research Fellow at Soto's lab in the Department of Neurology at UTHealth.

Research Description

Have a good hand of research in the field of biochemistry-biophysics, molecular biology, protein degradation related neurological disease and drug discovery. My interest of area of research are protein biochemistry-biophysics, towards protein stability, activity, protein drug-interaction, toxicity, protein folding, misfolding, aggregation, amyloid formation and their deposition in neurological pathology like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson's disease by applying various biophysical and biochemical methods/assays which is related to protein conformational and structural activity.
