Our Research
The Center for Perioperative Genomic Research (CPGR) is a research center dedicated to genomic research for human disease. The CPGR focuses on genome technologies and genomics, novel methodology and analytics, and applications to complex data related to the human disease. The CPGR is one of the research centers within the Institute of Perioperative Medicine at UTHealth Houston.
Vision
The CPGR aims to be a national leader in development and implementation of genomic research in perioperative medicine. It will advance perioperative medicine by developing innovative genomic techniques, establishing critical genomic resources, and providing abundant training to young scientists and physicians.
Mission
The mission of the CPGR is to develop, implement and evaluate novel genome technologies, data science and AI algorithms, and informatics and analytic approaches to advancing precision genomic medicine in perioperative medicine area. We will provide strong collaborative, team science support to other IPM investigators to advance basic, translational and clinical research.
